Far Up

(Our Unique Heritage)

Wha lay, wha losh!

St. Far Up you going?

No! St. Philip I going.

That up east or down south?

What you have up there?

We have royalty, my dear,

All in St. Philip.

Sam Lord, a castle he built,

A school, the Princess Margaret blessed,

We all play with King George in the park

So don’t stay there in the dark

Cause we own calypso king,

Red Plastic Bag, is still the one to hear sing!

So don’t let nobody burst your bag!

Something happening in St. Philip?

Child, things happened too much to mention

Slaves revolted at Bayley’s Plantation

Bussa, they said, had a hand in that.

Now he stand unshackled

But not at we round-about.

Six Roads should be where he be

Cause it did happen

All in St. Philip

Want excitement?

Look, come to St. Philip

Engines revving, grand prix style

Round the bends see those cars come speeding

Bushy Park is where it’s roaring and roaring

Get the action, see the traction,

Hear the crowd’s reaction

Something always happening

All in St. Philip.

Wha lay, wha losh!

Too fast for me,

Slow it down a bit, I might lose a shoe

A country ride for me would just about do.

Well, CulpepperIsland is the place to see

Off Skeet’s Bay, out in the sea.

Bottom Bay, or FowlBay to cool your feet,

Three Houses Park, pretty galore.

Go Sunbury House where they lived long ago

We got our heritage preserved for all to know.

All in St. Philip

St. Philip, not St. Far Up

Better shut you mouth up?

If you never gone to Penny Hole

Well, I sorry for you, soul.
